Rift Valley Fever: Help Needed for North Eastern Province

Many more deaths from Rift Valley haemorrhagic fever have been reported in North Eastern Province in the last few days. The people of the province are now facing the challenges of the disease outbreak and also a ban on the transportation of livestock there. Livestock is the mainstay of NEP and it is sad that the ban will really affect many livestock traders.

These people have no other means of livelihood and need all the help that the government can give them. They need to have an alternative source of income and I sincerely hope that the leaders of the province will work hard and ensure that they seek the necessary assistance for NEP residents.
